the show "monsters inside me" on animal planet is starting to freak me out.
today's episode featured a girl who had parasites in her eye.
it all started with her contact lens having this microscopic scratch which proved to be dire because the parasite latched onto the scratch and then entered her eye when she put on the lenses. the parasite kinda destroys the cornea and it's quite hard to get rid of due to its nature.
scary stuff.
another concern is the growing number of parasites in fishes,
especially those that we eat raw.
they caught a live fish,
examined the gut and viola!
this looooooooooong worm came swimming out.
-.-
right after "monsters inside me" is "venom er"
double happiness (cos i really love these 2 shows) on thursdays!
maybe triple, cos i don't have school on fridays so i can afford to sleep after 12 on thursdays.
after watching venom er i'm quite glad i'm living in singapore where the threat of deadly poisonous snakes/spiders are somewhat 0%.
and i must say this again, i think doctor bush is damn intelligent!!!!!!
he deals with not only snake bites but also spiders and scorpions and he knows how to identify the species and exactly the various symptoms and their treatment plans and any side effects and how to treat them!
super smart.
he's also involved in ongoing research on snake anti-venom,
and he's the faculty advisor of some university (paiseh, forgot which faculty and uni).
and like he will hold "awareness talks" for children so that they know the dangers of the snakes and what to do if they encounter one.
i think venom er is an old show because i sort of have this impression that i might have watched some of the cases before but nevertheless every episode is still as entertaining as ever!
i want to write a letter in to encourage doctor bush and thank him for saving the lives of so many people!!!
