ok just a bit on this show:
Shawn MacArthur (Channing Tatum) takes on underground fights to earn money after moving out from his home.
along the way there are conflicts, here and there, which only brings the character further into the whole affair. finally he has to take on his high school nemesis as an opponent and the stake - 100k.
ok personally i felt that the fight scenes should have been more developed, ie. more stunts could be incorporated. also, more screen time should have been given for the character to develop his fighting skills; how he has grown and learnt after every fight, and how he trained in preparation for the big fight (only like 1 miserly minute was dedicated to this part). well the audience also didn't know that this guy could fight professionally until when they mentioned it some time later that the dad's a wrestling coach as well as his trainer. in this sense they didn't really focus on why he had to go out and fight for a living and why he has such a huge conflict with his biggest opponent. it was all said and somewhat explained in dialogues between the characters, but some flashbacks would be good.
good thing was, they've gotten the right guy for this show, and the fights (without any special effects like slow mo or something) were rather realistic.

fyi, it's also the same guy starring in GI Joe.


oh btw,
we went for a cable car ride after the movie just because there was nothing else to do.
it's really a good way to have a quiet conversation with someone, although the stillness of the night air makes it a tad stuffy.
mm, i don't really know what else to say.
